Tax residency certificates (TRC) also called a Tax domicile certificate are given by the Ministry of Finance, Government of United Arab Emirates, according to the provisions of avoidance of double taxation agreements.

Tax Residence Certificate (Individuals)

An individual applying for the Tax residency testament in the United Arab Emirates must have stayed in the United Arab Emirates for at least 6 months; only residents are allowed to apply, non-occupants are not allowed to apply.

Documents required for Tax Residence Certificate (Individual)

  • Passport copy
  • UAE Entry stamp page
  • Emirates ID
  • Salary certificate
  • Bank statement of at least 6 months
  • Tenancy contract
  • Tax forms from the country where it needs to be submitted
  • A report from the GDRFA specifying the duration of stay (entry and exit)

Tax Residence Certificate (Companies)

If the company wants to apply for a Tax residency certificate, then they must have worked in the UAE for at least one year.

  • Bank statement of at least 6 months
  • Trade license copy
  • Tenancy contract
  • Audited financial statement
  • Establishment contract certified by official authorities
